Sandra - El Salvador

4th Year Spanish students loaned $50 to Sandra and she is currently 40% funded!
Students in our class researched individuals on Kiva.org, presented candidates to the class in Spanish, and we voted on which candidates we wanted to fund.
Sandra is 33 years old and never had access to an education because her family didn't have enough financial resources to send her to school. For this reason, she would help her parents prepare the food they would sell. Today, she lives with her partner, who works traveling in a pick-up truck. This business is how they provide for their family, since they have two children, ages five and three.
Sandra works selling products by catalog. She used to make food to sell in the afternoons and on Sundays at soccer games. Her husband is the main breadwinner, since their main source of income is his trips.
Sandra needs a loan to pay for parts and labor on the repair of their vehicle. They were in an accident and it suffered some damage. Even though it still runs, she needs to get it repaired because it is her family's main source of income.

Sandra's goal is to help her children go to school and teach them values, so they grow up to be upstanding people and can become independent in the future.
